FLOYD COUNTY PARKS AND RECREATION INFORMATION ON COVID19
The Floyd County Parks and Recreation Department strives to maintain and provide the safest and most secure facilities and programs for our guests, patrons and staff. Due to the recent concern over the Coronavirus (COVID19) along with discussions with county officials including the Floyd County Health Department, we have taken the following measures to maintain those standards:
We have closed the Southern Indiana Sports Center (SISC) and the Pine View Gymnasium until April 6, 2020. Our administrative office will remain open with new hours of 8 am till 4 pm Monday through Friday to assist citizens by phone, email or internet. The lobby and reception area will be closed until April 6th. All outdoor parks will remain open at this time but the public should be aware of the risks of using public playground equipment, basketball and tennis courts and shelter houses for large gatherings in places where others have met. All restrooms are closed. All organized sporting events, special events, shelter rentals, fundraising events and other functions planned by the department or others will be canceled until April 6th.
These actions are taken very seriously from the latest information that we have at this time. We are taking these precautions so we can protect the citizens of Floyd County and our staff until such a time we can all enjoy our beautiful park system safely.
