The Rotary Club of New Albany honored Diane Fischer, co-founder and president of L & D Mail Masters in New Albany, as its honoree for the 21st Annual Rotary Community Toast and Benefit Banquet. The banquet was held on Friday, November 7 at Huber’s Orchard, Winery and Vineyards’ Plantation Hall.

Each year the Rotary Club of New Albany chooses an individual from the community who has made important contributions to the local area and exemplifies the true spirit of the Rotary motto, “Service Above Self.” Fischer’s service to the local community made her very deserving of this prestigious honor.

Each year, a portion of the proceeds from the Rotary Toast go to a nonprofit or charity as selected by that year’s honoree. To help celebrate its upcoming centennial anniversary, the Club partnered with this year’s honoree and will use the funds to support a project to benefit our local community. With this year’s proceeds, Diane Fischer and the Rotary Club of New Albany have chosen to help build a new community playground for children.

The check will be used to assist in the construction of a new playground in the new park being built behind Northside Christian Church.
