The Floyd County Parks and Recreation Board and Staff would like to invite all residents of Floyd County, their families and friends to the 50th Anniversary Celebration of Sam Peden Community Park at 3037 Grant Line Road.  A free concert is scheduled for Sunday, August 16th from 6-10 pm in the large field just west of Kiwanis Lake in the park.  The 3 national acts that will be performing on the main stage—  6 pm—JESSIE BROWN BAND from Nashville, Tennessee, 7 pm—MIDNIGHT SPECIAL-THE CLASSIC ROCK EXPERIENCE and 8:30 pm—Grammy Award winner SHENANDOAH.

There will be inflatables for the kids beginning at 5 pm and open till 8 pm.  Thanks to the Jeffersonville Parks and Recreation Department there will be air conditioned portable restrooms to supplement the facilities located throughout the park.   BBQ, Tacos, Hot Dogs, frozen yogurt, shaved ice and  bottled water will be for sale with a large tent with picnic tables to get out of the sun.  NO ALCOHOL IS ALLOWED!  Staff and volunteers will assist in parking vehicles in paved parking lots as well as in level grass areas.  The Floyd County Sheriff’s Department will be handling all security as well as making sure everyone exits the park safely and quickly at the conclusion of the concert (around 10 pm).  New Chapel Fire Department will have EMT’s on hand to take care of any medical issues.

Bring your lawn chair and a friend and celebrate the 50th year of one of the most used and beautiful parks in southern Indiana!!  This is an excellent lineup of entertainment with music from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and today’s newest country music.
